Punta Cana International Airport has announced the partial reopening of check-in operations at Terminal A effective July 15, 2026, marking the next phase of an ongoing renovation project aimed at improving passenger facilities while maintaining normal airport operations.
Under the updated operational plan, passengers flying with Air Canada, Air Transat, Air Caraïbes, Allegiant, Avianca, Breeze Airways, Discover Airlines, Flair Airlines, Iberojet Spain, Iberojet Portugal, JetSMART, LIAT Air, LOT Polish Airlines, Neos, Rutaca, Sky Cana, Sky High Aviation Services, Sun Country Airlines, Sunrise Airways, TUI Airways, Turpial Airlines, WestJet, Wingo and World2Fly will once again complete their check-in process at Terminal A.
Some Airlines Will Continue Operating From Terminal B
Several carriers will continue using Terminal B for passenger check-in as part of the airport’s phased transition plan. These include JetBlue, Frontier, LATAM Peru, Aeroméxico, Sky Airline Peru and GlobalX.
The airport said the temporary distribution of airlines between the two terminals is intended to ensure operational continuity while construction and improvement work progresses at Terminal A.
Travelers Advised to Confirm Their Check-In Terminal
Airport officials are encouraging passengers to verify their assigned check-in terminal directly with their airline before traveling to the airport. Doing so can help avoid delays and ensure a smoother departure experience during the ongoing infrastructure upgrades.
The improvements are part of Punta Cana International Airport’s broader effort to modernize its facilities while prioritizing passenger safety, operational efficiency and service quality. As the Dominican Republic’s busiest international gateway and one of the Caribbean’s leading tourism hubs, the airport continues to upgrade its infrastructure to accommodate growing passenger traffic and enhance the travel experience for visitors arriving in the country.
