VERÓN, La Altagracia, Dominican Republic — Grupo Ramos, the country’s largest retail company, has inaugurated a new Multiplaza in Verón with an investment exceeding RD$1.3 billion, reinforcing its expansion strategy in one of the Dominican Republic’s fastest-growing regions.
The new retail complex features a 2,369-square-meter sales floor within a total construction area of 5,843 square meters, built on a site measuring more than 18,490 square meters. In addition to the main store, the development includes over 1,500 square meters of commercial space for complementary businesses.
Investment Aimed at Supporting Local Growth
Vanessa Alba, Grupo Ramos’ Director of Corporate Relations and Sustainability, said the project reflects the company’s commitment to supporting community development through investments that generate employment, stimulate commercial activity and improve access to quality products and services.
The new Multiplaza is expected to create 110 direct jobs while serving an estimated population of more than 11,000 people. Company officials said the investment will contribute to the area’s economic development by expanding the availability of retail services for local residents.
New Shopping Destination for Verón
The facility becomes the sixth Multiplaza operated by Grupo Ramos nationwide and is anchored by the company’s 44th Sirena store. Customers will also have access to the Sirena.do online shopping service, as well as complementary amenities including Pressto laundry services, ATMs, home delivery, dedicated parking areas and a large parking lot designed to accommodate growing customer demand.
By bringing multiple retail categories and services together in a single location, the company aims to offer a more convenient shopping experience for residents and visitors in the Verón-Punta Cana area.
Local Authorities Attend Opening Ceremony
The inauguration was attended by Verón Mayor Ramón Antonio Ramírez (Manolito), along with representatives from the local Fire Department, the National Police and the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Safety (DIGESETT), underscoring the project’s importance for the municipality.
