The Dominican Republic recorded its highest-ever export value for the first half of a year, reaching US$7.8978 billion between January and June 2026. The result represents a 14.8% year-over-year increase, equivalent to an additional US$1.018 billion compared with the same period in 2025.
According to ProDominicana, the country’s export and investment promotion agency, the figures reflect the growing competitiveness of Dominican products and the effectiveness of initiatives aimed at expanding the nation’s presence in international markets.
Biviana Riveiro Disla, Executive Director of ProDominicana, said the results demonstrate the strength of the country’s export sector and its ability to continue gaining market share abroad through a more diversified and competitive export offering.
June Sets New Monthly Export Record
June also marked a milestone for the Dominican economy, with exports totaling US$1.4985 billion, the highest monthly export value ever recorded by the country. The figure represents a 17.4% increase compared with June 2025, an absolute gain of US$221.7 million.
The record monthly performance highlights continued international demand for Dominican goods and underscores the resilience of the country’s export sector despite an evolving global trade environment.
Free Zones and National Exports Both Posted Strong Growth
Free zone exports reached US$819 million in June, increasing 8.0% year over year and accounting for 54.6% of total monthly exports.
Meanwhile, exports under the national regime climbed to US$651.8 million, representing a significant 35.4% increase compared with June 2025. These exports accounted for 45.4% of the month’s total shipments, reflecting broad-based growth across multiple sectors of the Dominican economy.
United States Remains the Leading Export Market
The United States remained the Dominican Republic’s largest export destination in June, receiving goods valued at US$683.5 million, an increase of 8.2% from a year earlier.
Canada ranked second with exports totaling US$263.9 million, posting an exceptional 211.1% year-over-year increase. Haiti remained another key regional market, with exports reaching US$115.9 million, up 11.8% compared with June 2025.
The latest figures reinforce the Dominican Republic’s position as one of the Caribbean’s leading export economies, supported by expanding international demand, strong free zone performance, and sustained growth in national production destined for overseas markets.
