Dominican Players Contribute Across Japan

Hanshin’s Dominican reliever Anderson Severino likewise turned in a scoreless inning, allowing two hits without giving up a run. The appearance lowered his ERA to 2.53.
Fabián Scores in Hiroshima Victory
Elsewhere in Japan, Dominican outfielder Sandro Fabián scored a run as the Hiroshima Carp defeated the Yakult Swallows 7-4 at Meiji Jingu Stadium in Tokyo. Fabián went hitless in two at-bats but reached base twice, drawing a walk and being hit by a pitch.
The result left Fabián with a .221 batting average. His Dominican teammate Elehuris Montero appeared as a pinch hitter and struck out, leaving his average at .233.
The day’s other game saw the Lotte Marines edge the Rakuten Eagles 3-2 at ZOZO Marine Stadium in Chiba. No Latin American players were involved in that matchup.
