Mazda has launched the new CX-5 2027 in the Dominican Republic, introducing a redesigned generation of its global best-selling SUV with a focus on interior space, comfort, technology and driving experience.

The model is represented in the Dominican market by Grupo Viamar, which presented the new CX-5 at Mazda’s official showroom in Santo Domingo during an event inspired by Japanese culture and the philosophy behind the brand.

A broader redesign focused on everyday usability

The new CX-5 represents a comprehensive evolution of Mazda’s SUV rather than a simple styling update. The redesign places particular emphasis on the cabin, with more room for passengers, improved ergonomics, additional cargo capacity and new storage solutions.

These changes are intended to make the SUV more practical for everyday use while maintaining the driver-focused approach associated with Mazda. The company has positioned the new generation around a balance of functionality, comfort and driving enjoyment.

2.5-liter engine across the lineup

The Mazda CX-5 2027 is offered in the Dominican Republic with a 2.5-liter engine across the range. Mazda has also incorporated new connectivity technologies as part of the model’s broader technological update.

The combination of the updated powertrain, additional interior space and new digital features is intended to strengthen the CX-5’s position in the competitive compact SUV segment.

Japanese culture shapes the Dominican launch

Grupo Viamar used Japanese culture as a central theme for the Dominican launch. The event incorporated elements of Japanese gastronomy, music and traditions, reflecting the cultural roots of the Mazda brand.

The presentation was hosted by Luz García and Raeldo López in an interactive podcast-style format that explored the new SUV from different perspectives. Executives from Grupo Viamar, representatives from Japan, automotive industry guests, media outlets and influencers attended the event.

A key model in Mazda’s global lineup

Since its introduction, the Mazda CX-5 has become Mazda’s best-selling SUV globally and one of the most important models in the company’s product lineup.

The new generation builds on that position with greater emphasis on habitability, versatility and comfort while retaining the design identity that has helped distinguish the CX-5 in its segment.

Pedro Then, Brand Manager of Mazda in the Dominican Republic, said the new generation was developed to provide higher levels of comfort, safety and versatility while maintaining the driving experience associated with the brand.

Mazda CX-5 2027 now available in the Dominican Republic

The new Mazda CX-5 2027 is now available in the Dominican Republic through Grupo Viamar and its authorized dealer network nationwide.

The arrival of the new generation expands Mazda’s offering in the Dominican Republic SUV market while introducing the latest evolution of one of the brand’s most important global models.
