Playa Caletón, one of the most scenic beaches in Río San Juan on the Dominican Republic’s northern coast, will host the first edition of the Astra Music Festival, a two-day event that combines live music, entertainment and outdoor experiences designed to showcase the area’s growing appeal as a tourism destination.
Organized by Astra Tours, the festival will take place at Caletón Beach Club on July 25 and 26. Organizers expect hundreds of visitors from across the Dominican Republic and abroad, positioning the event as part of a broader effort to promote experiential tourism while supporting the local economy.
Two Days of Dominican Music
The festival’s lineup features several well-known Dominican artists. On Saturday, July 25, audiences will enjoy performances by Joe Veras, Jayson Guzmán and LeBron Band.
The second day will feature Yovanny Polanco, Bulin 47 and Marcel Piel Morena, along with additional guest performers. Entertainment throughout the event will be hosted by DJ Junior HD (Junior Díaz).
More Than a Music Festival
The event is being produced by Sandra Tapia Producciones under the direction of producer Sandra Tapia, who said the goal is to create a high-quality experience that blends music, culture and tourism in a unique coastal setting.
“We are preparing a top-level production, paying attention to every detail so attendees can enjoy an unforgettable experience. We want Astra Music Festival to become a landmark entertainment event in the Dominican Republic while allowing visitors to experience the natural beauty of Río San Juan,” Tapia said.
Adventure Activities at Playa Caletón
Beyond the concerts, visitors will have access to a variety of recreational activities offered at Caletón Beach Club. Options include excursions to Laguna Gri Gri, horseback riding, buggy and four-wheel tours, Can-Am off-road adventures and a camping area for guests looking to spend the weekend immersed in nature.
Wendys Suero and Katherine Suero, executives at Astra Tours, said this will be the first of three Astra Music Festival events planned for different destinations across the Dominican Republic this year as the company expands its focus on tourism-driven entertainment.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in prize drawings and giveaways throughout the festival. Tickets are available through the online platforms Todostickets.do and Tix.do.
