Dominican Republic Launches CNZFE Automation Platform for Free Zone Services
The Dominican Republic has introduced a new digital platform to automate administrative procedures for companies operating in its free zone sector, a move designed to reduce processing times, improve transparency, and support the country's investment climate.
The National Council of Free Export Zones (CNZFE) has launched a new automation platform that digitizes key administrative procedures for companies operating in the Dominican Republic’s free zone sector. The initiative forms part of the government’s broader effort to modernize public services and make regulatory processes more efficient for businesses.
The platform was developed in collaboration with the Burocracia Cero (Zero Bureaucracy) Program and several public institutions. During its initial phase, it will enable the digital issuance of installation permits for companies seeking to establish operations within the country’s free zones, reducing paperwork and shortening processing times.
A Step Toward Digital Transformation
The introduction of the platform reflects the Dominican Republic’s ongoing digital transformation strategy, with a focus on improving the efficiency, transparency, and accessibility of government services. By moving key procedures online, authorities expect businesses to benefit from faster approvals while lowering administrative costs.
Representing the Dominican Association of Free Zones (ADOZONA), President Claudia Pellerano attended the launch event and welcomed the initiative, highlighting its potential to strengthen the country’s competitiveness and reinforce the Dominican Republic’s appeal as a destination for foreign direct investment.
Public and Private Sector Collaboration
The launch ceremony was led by Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs Víctor “Ito” Bisonó and CNZFE Executive Director Daniel Liranzo. Representatives from the Ministry of Public Administration, the Administrative Ministry of the Presidency, the National Competitiveness Council, the Zero Bureaucracy Program, and the Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OGTIC) also participated.
Free zones are one of the Dominican Republic’s most important export industries, attracting international manufacturers and service providers while generating significant employment and investment. The digitalization of regulatory procedures is expected to support continued growth by simplifying interactions between businesses and public institutions.
