Banco BHD and Arenal Inmobiliaria have launched the third edition of the Dominican Real Estate Fair in Madrid, offering Dominicans living in Spain an opportunity to explore housing developments in the Dominican Republic and learn about mortgage financing options available to buyers purchasing property from abroad.

The event runs from October 9 to 11 at the Canopy by Hilton Madrid Castellana hotel, located at Plaza Carlos Trías Bertrán 4 in Madrid. Visitors can review properties at different stages of development and receive guidance from Banco BHD specialists on financing alternatives, mortgage requirements and the considerations involved in buying a home while residing overseas.

Property developments and mortgage financing options

The fair features residential projects in the Dominican Republic, including properties sold off-plan, homes under construction and residences ready for delivery. This range allows prospective buyers to explore different purchasing options while gathering information about the procedures involved in acquiring a property from Spain.

Banco BHD representatives are providing information about mortgage financing alternatives for Dominicans living abroad, including the requirements for applying for a home loan from outside the country. The guidance is intended to help potential buyers understand the financial and administrative aspects of purchasing a property before making a commitment.

For Dominicans living overseas, buying a home in their country of origin can require additional planning, particularly when it comes to financing arrangements and completing procedures remotely. Access to information about mortgage requirements and available properties can help prospective buyers evaluate their options before proceeding with a purchase.

BHD and Arenal maintain their partnership

Freddy Simó, vice president of Specialized Sales at Banco BHD, highlighted the bank’s commitment to supporting Dominicans living abroad who wish to own a home in their country of origin.

“For us, it is vitally important to continue accompanying our compatriots abroad. We want all Dominicans outside the country to have the opportunity to acquire a home in their homeland,” Simó said.

María Báez Castillo, general manager of Arenal Inmobiliaria RD, welcomed attendees during the opening ceremony and emphasized the continuation of the initiative for a third consecutive year. She said the company remains committed to presenting property options to Dominicans abroad as they pursue homeownership.

The fair is part of a business agreement established between Arenal Inmobiliaria and Banco BHD in 2024. Since then, the two organizations have coordinated initiatives to provide information and guidance on mortgage financing to Dominicans residing outside the Dominican Republic.

Similar initiatives target Dominicans in the United States

The Madrid event forms part of broader efforts to connect the Dominican diaspora with the country’s housing market. Banco BHD has also organized activities for Dominicans living in the United States, including the fourth edition of its New York City Real Estate Fair.

These events bring information about residential developments and financing options closer to prospective buyers who may find it difficult to evaluate properties and mortgage requirements from overseas. For those considering a purchase, understanding eligibility criteria, financing conditions and the status of a property remains essential before entering into a transaction.
