The Miss International Dominican Republic 2026 pageant will take place Sunday, August 23, at 7 p.m. at the InterContinental Real Santo Domingo, where the next Dominican representative for the international competition will be crowned.

The national event is scheduled to be broadcast live on YouTube, giving audiences in the Dominican Republic and abroad an opportunity to follow the competition. The winner will go on to represent the country at the 64th Miss International final in Tokyo, Japan, on November 25.

A National Pageant With an International Focus

The Dominican competition is entering its 64th edition and is being led by Magali Febles, who has overseen the country’s Miss International franchise in recent years. The pageant presents itself around themes of peace, cultural exchange and international representation, linking the national competition to the broader mission of Miss International.

The international event, organized by Japan’s International Culture Association, is scheduled for November 25 at Tokyo Dome City Hall. More than 80 delegates are expected to compete for the title, according to international coverage of the 2026 edition.

Japanese Delegation To Attend Santo Domingo Gala

One of the highlights of this year’s Dominican event will be the presence of representatives connected to the international organization. The gala is expected to feature Catalina Duque, the reigning Miss International from Colombia, and Stephen Diaz, identified by the organizers as executive director of the Miss International Beauty Pageant.

The visit gives the Dominican event a direct connection with the organization in Japan and places greater emphasis on the cultural exchange that surrounds the competition. Duque won the 2025 Miss International title in Tokyo and is scheduled to crown her successor at the 2026 final.

Dominican Representatives Have Reached International Placements

Febles has highlighted the results achieved by recent Dominican representatives as part of the franchise’s development. Yamilex Hernández reached the Top 10 in 2023, while Miyuki Cruz advanced to the Top 20 in 2024. Ana Mas Pons represented the Dominican Republic in the 2025 edition.

The national pageant has also served as a pathway for Dominican contestants seeking experience on international stages. Previous Dominican representatives have competed in Japan as part of the country’s broader participation in international beauty competitions.

The 2026 winner will now inherit that role, with the next stage of the competition taking her to Tokyo for a global event that brings together delegates from countries across several regions.

Road To Tokyo

Beyond the national crown, the Dominican competition will determine who carries the country’s sash at the November final. Miss International has traditionally placed emphasis on cultural understanding and goodwill among participating countries, giving national representatives a role that extends beyond the competition itself.

For the Dominican Republic, the August 23 coronation will therefore mark the beginning of a new international campaign. The newly crowned representative will have roughly three months to prepare for the Tokyo event and join the more than 80 contestants expected to compete for the 2026 title.
