Stephany Ortega Returns To Santo Domingo With Third Concert

Stephany Ortega will return to the stage in Santo Domingo on September 5 for a third performance of “Mi vida en canciones,” a concert that brings together Dominican and Latin American songs with selections from the lyrical repertoire that have marked different stages of the soprano’s career.

The new performance will take place at the Café Teatro Juan Lockward, inside the Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito, after Ortega’s shows on July 31 and August 1 reached full capacity. The additional date gives audiences another opportunity to see a production built around the Dominican singer’s personal connection to the music she has performed throughout her career.

A Concert Built Around Dominican And Latin American Music

“Mi vida en canciones” moves between classical singing, pop and Caribbean rhythms rather than remaining within a strictly lyrical format. Its repertoire combines Dominican and Latin American songs with pieces from the classical tradition that Ortega considers significant to her personal and professional journey.

The musical lineup for the September performance includes pianist and musical director Manuel Tejada, bassist Héctor Santana and drummer Guy Frómeta. Their participation gives the concert an instrumental foundation capable of supporting the range of styles included in Ortega’s repertoire.

The Santo Domingo concert comes after Ortega completed a concert tour in China, with performances in Shanghai, Beijing, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chengdu. The tour adds an Asian chapter to an international career that has taken the Dominican soprano to stages across Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia.

Ortega is based in Luxembourg, where she has continued developing her international career while maintaining connections with the Dominican cultural scene. Her international work has included participation in the enthronement ceremony of Luxembourg’s Grand Duke, where she was identified as the only Latin American artist taking part.

The singer was also recently honored with the “Excelencia de la Música 2026” award at the Premios Dominicanísimo ceremony in Boston, United States. The distinction adds to a career that has combined opera and classical music with broader musical styles and international performances.
