Kia Vision Meta Turismo Earns 2026 Red Dot Award for Concept Design

Kia has added another international design accolade to its growing portfolio after the Vision Meta Turismo received the 2026 Red Dot Award: Design Concept in the Cars and Motorcycles category. The recognition highlights the South Korean automaker’s continued focus on innovation and its ambition to redefine future mobility through human-centered design.

The concept made its global debut during Milan Design Week 2026, where Kia presented the Vision Meta Turismo as a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic grand tourer for the digital age. Featuring a dramatic cab-forward silhouette and a lounge-inspired interior, the vehicle blends high-performance styling with immersive digital technologies to envision a new era of electric mobility.

Design Focused on Emotion and Technology

The exterior combines soft geometric surfaces with athletic proportions, creating a futuristic appearance that balances sculptural elegance with technical precision. Inside, Kia has designed two distinct experiences: a driver-focused cockpit centered on performance and a spacious passenger environment intended for comfort, relaxation, and immersive digital interaction.

Among the concept’s most notable innovations is the Add-Gear interface, a modular control system that integrates physical controls with configurable digital functions. Kia also introduces a 3D augmented reality head-up display (HUD) and three user-selectable driving modes—Speedster, Dreamer, and Gamer—each designed to deliver a different driving or entertainment experience depending on how the vehicle is being used.

A Showcase of Kia’s Future Mobility Vision

The Vision Meta Turismo embodies Kia’s Opposites United design philosophy, which seeks to merge contrasting elements such as emotion and technology, performance and comfort, or digital innovation and human-centered experiences. Rather than previewing a production model, the concept serves as a platform for exploring technologies and design ideas that could influence future electric vehicles.

According to Kia Global Design Executive Vice President Karim Habib, the project was created to challenge conventional thinking and imagine new user experiences through design. The Red Dot recognition underscores the company’s growing influence in automotive design and reinforces its strategy of using concept vehicles to shape the future direction of electric mobility.
