No Dominicans Reported Affected After Colombia Earthquake
The Dominican Republic's Foreign Ministry said no Dominican citizens have been reported affected after a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck Colombia, while diplomatic officials continue monitoring the situation.
The Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) said Tuesday that preliminary reports from the country’s embassy and consulate in Bogotá indicate that no Dominican citizens have been affected by the magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck Colombia on Monday.
Dominican diplomatic authorities in Colombia are continuing to monitor the situation and remain in contact with one another as they assess whether any citizens may require assistance. The earthquake occurred in western Colombia, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
Diplomatic Authorities Continue Monitoring
MIREX said its embassy and consular officials in Colombia are maintaining communication as part of the response to the earthquake. The monitoring effort is intended to identify any Dominican nationals who may need assistance or guidance following the seismic event.

For now, MIREX has not reported Dominican citizens among those affected, but the ministry’s continued monitoring reflects the role of diplomatic and consular authorities in locating and assisting nationals during emergencies abroad.
