Dominican Migration Agency Restores E-Ticket Platform After Technical Outage

The Dominican Republic’s General Directorate of Migration (DGM) restored its online services at 7 a.m. on Friday, October 16, following a technical failure that temporarily affected its digital platform. The disruption also affected access to the country’s E-Ticket system, an electronic form used by travelers entering and leaving the country.

In its initial announcement, the agency said technical teams had worked to restore services while maintaining immigration controls and the flow of passengers on air routes to and from the Dominican Republic. At that point, work to reactivate the E-Ticket remained underway, and officials had not announced a deadline for its full availability.

E-Ticket Service Later Reported Fully Restored

Later on Friday, the DGM reported that the E-Ticket platform had been fully restored and was operating normally. The agency apologized for the inconvenience and said it would continue working to strengthen its technological infrastructure and reduce the risk of similar interruptions.

The E-Ticket is the Dominican Republic’s official electronic portal for passenger entry and exit information. It brings together immigration and customs declarations in a single digital process. Travelers can access the official E-Ticket website to complete a form, retrieve an existing submission or start a new one.

The service is free. Travelers should use the official government portal rather than websites that charge fees to complete the form on their behalf.

What Travelers Should Know

Although the DGM said immigration controls and air passenger flows continued during the technical incident, the temporary disruption may have caused difficulties for people trying to access the online form. Travelers preparing for an international flight should verify that they can access the official portal and retain any confirmation generated after completing the process.

If the platform becomes unavailable again, passengers should consult the DGM or their airline for instructions applicable to their journey rather than assume that normal documentation procedures have been waived. The agency’s official website, migracion.gob.do, provides institutional information and service updates.

Agency Working to Prevent Further Disruptions

The DGM said its technical teams were working to improve platform stability and prevent future interruptions. The agency did not publicly specify the precise cause of the internal failure or provide technical details about the corrective measures.

The incident highlights the importance of reliable digital services for international travel. With the E-Ticket used to submit entry and exit information, access to the platform is a practical concern for both Dominican citizens and foreign visitors traveling through the country’s airports.
